From Sea to Shining Grill


When you think of summer so many great things come to mind. But for us… it’s that glint of sun off the backyard grill that really fires up our coals. Turn up your grill by adding these delicious seafood dishes into the weekday cookout mix. Grilled seafood is power-packed with heart-healthy nutrients so these dishes don’t just taste good, they’re good for you. And, to give you a little extra something on the side, try this marinade to take your backyard barbecue to a whole new level.


Add a little flavor to your grilled dishes with this simple marinade!

 

Basic Marinade Formula

  • 1 part healthy oil (neutral oil like canola or avocado oil)
  • 1 part acid (citrus, vinegar, buttermilk or yogurt)
  • 1-2 parts aromatics (garlic, herbs, and spices)
  • Add salt, soy sauce, or sweetener (honey, maple syrup sugar) to taste

Directions

  • Place seafood with marinade in a resalable bag
  • Push air out of the bag and lightly seal
  • Massage seafood for 5 minutes, turning the bag over often so the meat absorbs most of the marinade. Remove the seafood and discard remaining marinade.
