Ingredients
1 cup packed coleslaw mix
½ cup plus 2 tablespoons avocado ranch dressing
¼ cup chopped red bell pepper
1 ¼ pounds ground turkey
¼ (8-ounce) block Cheddar cheese, shredded (about 1/2 cup)
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 large egg
¼ cup finely chopped jalapeno peppers
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Nonstick cooking spray
4 brioche hamburger buns
Directions
- Line rimmed baking pan with parchment paper. In medium bowl, toss coleslaw mix, 2 tablespoons dressing and red bell pepper; cover and refrigerate. Makes about 1 cup coleslaw mixture.
- In large bowl, gently mix turkey, cheese, garlic, egg, jalapeno peppers, salt and black pepper; do not overmix. Form turkey mixture into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties; place on prepared pan. Make shallow indentation in center of each patty; refrigerate 30 minutes.
- Prepare outdoor grill for direct grilling over medium-high heat. Spray both sides of patties with cooking spray; place on hot grill rack, cover and cook 8 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°, turning once. During last minute of cooking, place buns, cut side down, on hot grill rack; cover and cook 1 minute or until lightly toasted.
- Spread cut sides of buns with remaining 1/2 cup dressing; serve burgers in buns topped with coleslaw mixture. Makes 4 burgers.
