Ingredients
1 pound bacon
8 large croissants, torn into 3-4 pieces
12 large eggs
3/4 cup half and half
1/2 teaspoon Simply Organic® Sage Leaf
1 teaspoon Simply Organic® Thyme Leaf
1 teaspoon Simply Organic® Garlic Powder
2 teaspoons sea or Himalayan pink salt
1 teaspoon Simply Organic® Black Pepper
8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
Chives, finely chopped, for garnish
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat a 9-x-13-inch baking dish with oil or cooking spray.
- In a large skillet or in the oven, cook bacon until crisp. Let cool, then crumble.
- In prepared baking dish, add torn croissants, spreading them into an even layer.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, sage, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until combined. Stir in bacon and cheese.
- Pour egg mixture over croissants, and stir well to coat croissants and evenly distribute bacon and cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until tops of croissants are browned and center of casserole is set.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then slice and serve. Top with chives, and enjoy!
RECIPE TIP
Do these two steps the day ahead for easier prep on serving day: Place torn croissants in baking dish and cover, and make the egg mixture separately and refrigerate overnight. Add the egg mixture to croissants just before baking.
