Made with two bottles of rich red wine, fresh orange slices, sweet honey or maple syrup, and a blend of classic spices—whole cloves, cinnamon sticks, and star anise—this comforting drink is perfect for holiday gatherings or a relaxing evening by the fire.

Ingredients
2 bottles of red wine
4 oranges, sliced into rounds
¼ cup Bowl & Basket honey or maple syrup (can adjust to taste)
8 Bowl & Basket Whole cloves
4 Bowl & Basket cinnamon sticks
4 whole star anise pods
Cinnamon sticks and fresh orange slices for garnish (optional)
Directions
  1. Pour wine into a medium stockpot. Add in the rest of the ingredients and stir to mix well.
  2. Heat gently over medium low heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes. Strain into glasses and serve with additional sliced oranges, cinnamon sticks if desired

Note: to make a non alcoholic version, substitute grape juice for the wine and adjust/reduce the sweetener to taste.
